I've been teaching at MCC since 2009 and was hired as full time faculty in 2011 to teach Drawing, 2D Design and Printmaking. I received my MFA in Printmaking from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2008. I received my BA in Studio Art from the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA. After completing my graduate degree, I was an artist in residence at the Lux Center for the Arts in Lincoln and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City, and I taught foundations and drawing at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. My recent exhibitions include Currents at Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Coat Them in Gold and Tween at Parallax Space in Lincoln and Fred Simon Gallery in Omaha, and group exhibitions in Colorado, Australia, France and Finland.

In 2008 I started an online craft business called Beantown Handmade, where I sold humorous and functional fiber crafts for your furry friends. In addition to selling my work on Etsy and through my own website, I also authored a pattern book titled Patterns for Pooches for New Holland Press. You can find it here through Barnes and Noble.

My love for crochet has now extended into the realm of fine art, and I was excited to help organize the Joslyn Museum's first yarn bombing in August 2011. This large scale project involved the local community and people all over the country who mailed in crochet and knit pieces to cover both the grand staircase and trees outside the museum. The work was later turned into blankets donated to the Siena Francis House.

I grew up in Virginia Beach and have enjoyed living in Nebraska for the past 9 years. I live in Lincoln with my husband Michael, who is also an artist and teaches in the department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design at UNL, our son Everett and our two Boston Terriers Bean and Lily. I look forward to getting to know all of you this semester!
