First Friday is relatively new to Omaha, but has been thriving in Lincoln for years. For information about Lincoln's first Friday walk look here.

This First Friday at the Tugboat Gallery (14th and O Street) in Lincoln there is a show titled High Tech, Low Tech and Who Cares? curated by my husband Michael Burton. The show features the following artists:
Donald Fodness
Alvin Gregorio
Angela Carbone
Brian Pytlik Zillig: Associate Professor and Digital Initiatives Librarian at the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities

Alvin and Donald will be giving a public lecture at UNL City Campus in Richards Hall sometime next Friday Oct 5th - please email me for up to date information next week if you are interested in attending.

Upcoming Events at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art

Check out the following upcoming events at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, located in Omaha's historic old market.

Sept 21st: opening reception for the annual art auction 6-9pm (free)

Oct 4th: First Thursday art talk 7pm, features current artists in residence at the Bemis (free)

Oct 20th: 14th annual art auction gala event, 5:30-10pm

Nov 1: First Thursday art talk 7pm, features current residents at the Bemis (free)

Nov 10th: Open studios, take a look through the studios of current artists in residence at the Bemis 1-4pm (free)

Nov 16th: Brittan Rosendahl | Underground, exhibition opening 6-9pm - Nov 17th talk with the curator   at noon (free)


Dec 6th: First Thursday art talk, 7pm
